Uterine cancer in many situations can be treated with laparoscopic surgery, and in these situations we perform laparoscopic lymphadenectomy - excision of lymph nodes.

When investigating uterine cancer ( or cancer of the lining of the uterus) it is important to know whether the disease has spread to the lymph nodes in the region. This will help to understand how advanced the cancer is, and thus how to treat it. In advanced cases the patient may need further treatment like radiotherapy. If the disease had not extended outside the confines of the uterus the patient may need no further treatment. Ovarian cancer is best treated with laparotomy (abdominal incision), and in these situations we perform debulking surgery to remove all cancer implants.
