Under the invitation of Professor Moshe Ben Ami I had recently visited the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Department at The Baruch Padeh Medical Center in Poriya, Israel. This is a big tertiary referral centre that covers the population of Tiberias, the Golan Heights, Jordan Valley and the Lower Galilee. I was certainly very impressed with the organization and high quality of services provided at the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Department as well as the very modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment.
I had the opportunity to be in the operating room with Dr Ilan Atlas, Gynaecological Oncology Director, and to update on the current management of the precancerous lesions of the cervix and the use of the operative hysteroscope with bipolar current to treat intrauterine abnormalities. It was extremely useful as well to interchange surgical ideas about Advanced laparoscopic surgery.
